The Almirante Photos of John Paul of New Zealand
In 2019 I received the following scanned photos from New Zealand.
They were taken in 1977 by John Paul during his time as 2nd engineer on a Cunard fruit boat.

This is Almirante wharf with the pay car handing out wages.

We now ride a 1977 fruit train.

As our long train accelerates away from a bend.

The Changuinola River bridge.

And a Changuinola River view.

This may be Changuinola.

With a 0-4-0 plinthed in the yard.

Loco 830 at a station, again this could be Changuinola.

803 with banana cars.

803 again.

A typical track view.

Our train has banana cars behind the passenger coaches.

A Finka. John Paul thinks they stopped at both Finca Quince and Finca 24 so this could be one of those.

807 arriving.

A banana conveyor being slid out of the way.

Again possibly Finca Quince or Finca 24.

With bananas on a conveyor.

And a final view of our well filled train.
